I know databases...from the inside out

You know the story - that new consultant you hired knows just one part of your environment:  You hear “I don’t do databases”, “The job description didn’t include documentation”, or whatever - the bottom line is you need to hire two or more people to get your job done when you really wanted to have just one good one.

What if you could get database, mainframe, programming, web, customer support and documentation expertise in the same person?  Wouldn’t that help you get the project done faster and better?

If you need a well rounded consultant, you need look no further than Oso Sol Consulting.  The founder and primary consultant has over 25 years experience developing software in varied environments and application areas.

Why should you hire Oso Sol Consulting?

Tired of single dimension consultants?  Then it’s time to try Oso Sol Consulting

You use DB2?  I was the lead developer for the CA-ProEdit tools for DB2, provided customer support and wrote documentation.  I was on the team that develops and supports DB2 Repli-Data for z/OS which IBM uses internally for synchronizing data between DB2 databases on several platforms.  Literally every IBM employee depends on Repli-Data - it is used in the time reporting system.

You use Infomix?  I was on the Informix development team at IBM and helped port the database to new Unix platforms.  And I’ve worked with Tandem Non-Stop SQL as well.  Try to find someone else with those skills.

Message Oriented Middleware? I wrote the book

When the term ‘middleware’ was just emerging, I was setting it up and troubleshooting it on Windows, OS/2 and Tandem for an airline reservation system.  Later, when NEONet became one of the first commercially available message oriented middleware products, I helped get that product running on z/OS and wrote the documentation for it.  Then IBM licensed it - today you call it “Websphere MQSeries Integrator”.

I develop software - and software for software developers

Application integration, database replication, middleware, point of sale applications, cross platform development, web pages - I’ve done those for some of the biggest names in their respective industries.  I’ve gone from the initial design through documentation and training; I understand the software development process.  That’s why I’ve also created tools and utilities for the developers I’ve worked with.  I believe in automating the things that we shouldn’t have to think about to have more time for the things we do need to thing about.  If you use z/OS TSO I copyrighted application development shell in CLIST, REXX, & ISPF that you might want to check out.

The Bottom Line - one developer with multiple skills

In-depth experience in multiple disciplines.  If that sounds like the consultant you need, you need to contact Oso Sol Consulting.
